Water pollution, destruction of water reservoirs, throwing of garbage’s in the river or any bodies of water, and improper waste management of different factory residues are the most common problems why there are places who has crisis in their clean water. There are a lot of countries that has these problems, because of the lack of knowledge, they are not well-educated, and they do not know how to take care our natural resources. 1.       Bangalore, India. Their advocacy or program is to protect lakes from land grabbers. The capital of Karnataka State is the third most populous city in India and home to nearly 10 million people. In 2010, the city’s 450 lakes were under threat of privatization, leading to concerns that the water would not be used sustainably. Water from the lakes goes down into underground aquifers, which supply neighborhood wells across the region. What the people do is now created and organize a group or people whose advocacies is to protect the lakes from the land grabbers, because they realized that the source of their water will soon be industrialize and 3 to 5 years from now, there will be a crisis of water in their area that’s why the people are against in the privatization of their lakes. The organized group is the ESG or the Environment Support Group, wherein they filed a public interest writ in the high court which resulted in the prohibition of the privatization in the 450 lakes in the area. As the rehabilitation of this lakes continue the locals is becoming more benefitted of this projects, because they received a greater quality of water  which leads to better crop growth and yields.

2.       Cape Town, South Africa. Their advocacy or program is to save water on a massive scale. Cape Town is one of the most recognizable cities in the world, because of its strong effort in making that the water is clean and free from any harm. They are still holding the title for 15 consecutive years, because their program makes the use of water very efficient, they managed to reduce the use of water by 30% and at the same period of time their population is continue to grow for about 30%. Meaning they managed the water very well and they planned it very well, that’s why even their population continue to grow, they can still supply the needs of the people. This is the good thing about the Cape Town, because they’re using what they need not what they want. The city have two water conservation programs, First, they are persuading the people to use less water, in that way the people can use what they need in particular considering the people that will need the water in the future. Second, by deploying the latest technology to use water efficiently. Another good thing the Cape Town’s government did is to make sure that the old pipes are new, the pipes who have leaks are repaired, and they adjusted the pressure to reduce the wastage of water. The government was also conducting different trainings and seminars that have a goal to educate the people about the water conservation.
