Water pollution, destruction of water reservoirs, throwing of garbage’s in the river or any bodies of water, and improper waste management of different factory residues are the most common problems why there are places who has crisis in their clean water. There are a lot of countries that has these problems, because of the lack of knowledge, they are not well-educated, and they do not know how to take care our natural resources. 1.       Sorocaba, Brazil. Their advocacy or program is to clean up polluted rivers. One of the biggest problem that the world is facing today is the water pollution. The rivers, lakes, seas and even ocean are being polluted, but the worst case is the pollution in the river, because it can be source of our water. One of the best advocacy or program of Sorocaba, Brazil is to clean up their polluted rivers. The pollution of their river is now being addressed by both the government and the locals. Last June 2015 the locals was able to removed 225 kilograms of rubbish from the Sorocaba River in just one day. The residents there believed that this waste are coming from the industry, mining and sewage. City workers regularly remove 10 tons of dirt, leaves, branches, rubbish and recyclables in a month. Attempts are also being made to change the riverside into a place of beauty rather than a place to tip rubbish. Linear parks are being created along the river banks to provide space for leisure and recreation when the river is flowing normally, and to hold the extra water in times of high flows. Trees are also being planted to provide a habitat for wildlife. The locals and the government of the city is continuing to make strong efforts to assure the cleanliness in their rivers.

2.       Beira, Mozambique. Their advocacy or program is to create a big team with a grand vision. Mozambique’s second-largest city, Beira, is a port town on the Pungue River, at the spot where the river meets the Indian Ocean. With help from the Dutch, including the NGO Alterra, the city has created Beira 2035, a master plan to tackle the urgent problem of urban storm water which has repeatedly caused flooding and soil erosion, and posed a threat to infrastructure and human health in the city. In a smart move, Beira 2035 also takes the opportunity to plan for urban expansion. The city is bursting at the seams and its growing population urgently needs more housing, so the city is funding its flood protection by attracting 300 investors who are interested in developing the port area. Money will be used to dredge the harbor, build low-cost housing, develop local industry, improve transport links and drainage and extend the provision of water services. The group and the government of Beira is still making this dream possible, through their unending support and unlimited efforts to make this very wonderful mission possible.
